No Possibility of Cash Payment at an Event
At festivals, you should always be able to pay with cash.
However, the organisation may impose certain payment methods such as wristbands for consumption. The organiser should clearly communicate the limited payment options in advance.
You must also have a simple way to get the unused balance on the virtual account refunded. This might involve completing formalities like signing up on a website or paying administrative fees. If the required formalities are excessive (e.g., an unreasonably high administrative fee), this may constitute an unfair trade practice.
The Economic Inspection of the FPS Economy assesses whether the formalities, such as administrative costs or procedural complexity, are disproportionate. Since festivals are each run differently, organisational costs can differ each time.
