Blocked Bank Account

Has your account been blocked by your bank? A bank may block an account for various reasons:

  • in response to a presumed suspicious transaction
  • in suspected cases of fraud
  • in suspected cases of money laundering
  • if required identification information is missing
  • following a court order
  • for security reasons

Start by reaching out to your bank to find out why your account was blocked. However, if the bank suspects fraud or money laundering, it will not be able to inform you of the reason of the blockage.

If you are experiencing difficulties accessing a current account, the basic banking service for private consumers may offer a solution.
